Lip Scrub
WHY EXFOLIATE YOUR LIPS?
Our lips lack the natural oils found elsewhere on our skin, making them more susceptible to dryness and flakiness. Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, allowing moisturizers to penetrate more effectively and leaving your lips soft, smooth, and ready for any look.
ingredients
1 tablespoon of brown sugar (for gentle exfoliation)
1 teaspoon of honey (for moisture)
1 teaspoon of coconut oil or almond oil (for extra hydration)
Optional: a drop or two of your favorite essential oil for a little extra flavor (try peppermint, vanilla, or lavender)
Instructions
Start by mixing the brown sugar, honey, and coconut oil in a small bowl.
Stir until you have a thick, grainy paste. If it's too thick, add a bit more oil; if it's too runny, add more brown sugar.
Add a drop of your chosen essential oil for a lovely aroma. Peppermint, vanilla, or lavender are all fantastic choices!
Once everything is mixed together, transfer your lip scrub into a clean, airtight container.
HOW TO USE YOUR LIP SCRUB
Start by gently wetting your lips with warm water to soften them.
Take a small amount of the lip scrub and apply it to your lips.
Using your fingertips, gently massage the scrub in circular motions for about 30 seconds to a minute. Be sure to focus on any dry or flaky areas.
Rinse off the scrub with lukewarm water and pat your lips dry with a soft towel.
TIPS, TRICKS & AFTERCARE
Don’t overdo it! Exfoliating your lips once or twice a week is plenty. Over-exfoliating can actually do more harm than good, leaving your lips dry and irritated.
Follow up with a hydrating lip balm to lock in moisture and keep your lips feeling soft and supple.
Feel free to get creative with your DIY lip scrub recipe! Add a splash of lemon juice for extra brightening power, or a pinch of cinnamon for a plumping effect. Just remember not to overdo it with cinnamon, as it can be irritating for some skin types.
